The Ridges on East Side offer everything you'd want – shopping, dining, outdoor opportunities, beaches, and proximity to downtown Honolulu. Consisting of Maunalani Heights, Waialae Nui Ridge, Waialae Iki, and Hawaii Loa Ridge, this area's hillside communities each have their unique feel. They range from smaller, un-updated mid-century homes passed down to generations of families to modern and luxurious. Some are also among the most expensive on Oahu.
 
The region's mountains, natural preserves, and historical attractions provide a scenic environment with plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures. It's also close to world-renowned beaches, numerous activities, and a peaceful lifestyle.
 
Homes are architecturally varied, ranging from modern to Mediterranean to contemporary. What makes ridge living special is the cooler temperatures due to their elevations and the wonderful ocean and Diamond Head views of many ridge homes.

Residents of the ridge communities of East Oahu have access to various shopping and dining opportunities. Residents enjoy the enviable experience of living in communities engulfed in natural beauty. The cooler and wet climate makes it easy to enjoy outdoor activities like boating, hiking, surfing, paddle boarding, and more throughout the year. Living here is almost like being on a permanent vacation.
 

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Most Kaimuki restaurants are located on or right off Waialae Avenue. Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Koa Pancake House or Koko Head Café, order classic Hawaiian dishes at Oahu Grill, and end your day with Japanese cuisine at Aki. Check out PIpeline Bake Shop, Via Gelato, Sconees for local versions of classics and favorites for your mid-day pickup!
 
Aina Haina Shopping Center is conveniently located in the heart of the Aina Haina community, at the intersection of West Hind Drive and Kalanianaole Highway. This contemporary strip mall offers dozens of shopping, restaurant, and service options. It's an excellent plenty place to explore with the whole family.
 
The ridge communities are close to Kahala Mall, which offers a premier selection of shops and local retailers. You can have a fulfilling day exploring and enjoying different entertainment options. The mall has a cinema and often hosts family events. You'll also find a concourse area, which frequently has something for the kids.
 

Things to Do

Exploring Kaimuki town is a must-do activity. You can get great food, shop for souvenirs, get a mani-pedi and order shaved ice — there is plenty to occupy your time. The ridges on the East side are all perched above Kaimuki, Kahala, and Diamond Head with close and easy access to Hawaii Kai, Waikiki, and beyond so roll down and explore!
